Visit with the Cousins

Are they not the cutest:) The girls thought it would be fun to both sleep in Ashlyn's bed and have a little slumber party-mommy and daddy didn't think that was probably going to work b/c both girls are super restless sleepers so we just let them lay in bed together for a bit and read books to one another. They are so funny to watch and listen to!!

The new little cousins are growing up way to fast!! I remember many of pictures of the girls laying side by side like this and now look at how big they are. Makes me sad to think Brody is almost 6 months old already.

YUMMY cereal

Kane's 2nd Birthday

Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet nephew Kane!!He got a lot of great gifts-I think this and his bulldozer were his fav's! Rachel made these AWESOME cupcakes-I don't even want to know how many hours she spent making them:)

5 Month Update

Well my bubby boy is 5 months old and he seemed about as excited about it as I was:) I have a feeling its only going to get harder to try and take his picture each month-he is rolling all over the place and trying to sit up. He continues to be such a great baby and starting to develop a little personality. I noticed the past couple of weeks if he is sitting in his bumbo seat or bouncy seat and I walk out of the room he starts to whine/cry. I have to admit-I love it. I hate to hear him cry and immediately pick him up or take him from Ryan if he is fussing. He is my last baby and if I want to spoil him I have that right:)

A Night Away

For Christmas I got Ryan Bulls tickets-had no idea it would be the weekend they would be celebrating St. Patty's Day and it was also the 20th Anniversary of the Bulls 1st NBA Title!! Matt & Rachel decided to join us for a little weekend away. Kane and Brody stayed with Emaw and Paw Paw Aupperle and Ashlyn stayed with my good friends Megan and Josh. This was the 1st time we left Brody and I had to think back to when the last time we left for an overnight stay-it was clear back in July!! So we were definately ready for a night away. Love my kids to pieces but its good for mommy and daddy to have a night off too. My mom said Brody was good as gold and she reaffirmed what I already knew that we have seriously been blessed with the best baby:) Ashlyn LOVED her overnight stay with Megan and Josh and is still talking about her painted toes and fingers and about her room at Megans house. She is so funny!!

A little Sister/Brother Love

Not a lot of excitement going on in the Welborn House-had our bouts with the flu and Brody had RSV last week but we are all healthy and happy again and sooo anxious for some warmer weather. Feels like we have been cooped up in the house forever. Ryan and I are looking forward to a little getaway this weekend-we are heading to Chicago with Matt and Rachel for a Bulls game and a little relaxation. Emaw and Paw Paw Aupperle are watching Kane and Brody and Megan and Josh wanted to keep Ashlyn overnight-she is super excited and has been packing her toys all week:) She talked to Megan last night and told her she wanted Chix nuggets for dinner but no broccoli.

Tumbling

Ashlyn started tumbling a few weeks ago and she LOVES it-her teacher is John (who is also owner) and he is amazing with the kids. He is sooo unbelievable patient with them and they respond to him so well. Ashlyn loves to jump on the trampoline, do her back flips off the mats, and somersaults. Ryan and Brody come with and Brody just loves to watch and laugh at the kids-its sooo stinken cute. Something fun to get us out of the house during this VERY LONG WINTER!!

4 Month Update

Feels like yesterday I posted Brody's 3 month update & here I am again posting that he is another month older!! Well I think you can tell by the pictures that this little guy is SUPER HAPPY and just the best baby. Sometimes we forget he is around because he is just content to sit in his bouncy seat and talk to his zebra and suck on his hands. Ashlyn loves him dearly and he just lights up and gives her the biggest smiles when she is around. In the mornings Ashlyn loves to read books and talk to him it is so sweet and definitely my favorite part of the day. Brody has rolled over a few times from his tummy to his back but I haven't seen him do it-my little guy is a tummy sleeper and there have been a couple morning I go in and he is on his back. I asked the daycare teachers if he has rolled over for them and they said not yet but he gets so close. I'm not sure if he is going to be a paci taker or not-right now he is all about his hands and if he can get both in his mouth without gagging he will:) He has the greatest belly laugh-Ashlyn is in tumbling and last night she was jumping on the trampoline and Brody thought it was just the funniest thing-he was laughing so hard at her which of course made all of us laugh as well. He is the perfect addition to our family:)

No Excuse!!

So its been a new year for over a month now and even though I didn't really set working out as a new years resolution I thought by now I would be into a pretty good routine of working out. As you can see I really have no excuse-we have all this equipment in our basement!! I don't have to get out of bed in the morning and go out in the cold and still I find myself pretty unmotivated most days to workout. I have actually lost all my baby weight and I'm even under my pre-pregnancy weight by a couple pounds but I just feel completely out of shape and flabby/flimsy:) So this week I told myself NO MORE EXCUSES-I have to get my butt out of bed in the mornings and do at least 30 minutes of cardio. I try and get up between 5:30 & 6:00 b/c the kids are still sleeping and Ryan usually leaves for work around 7 so I like to have my shower by 6:30. Once I'm up and moving I'm fine and so far this week I made it 4 days (tuesday and wednesday I didn't have to get up early:) So next week will be my true test!! I hope I can stick with it-Ryan works out everyday over his lunch but there is NO WAY that would work for me but he said he would work out in the mornings with me if I needed that extra motivation! Such a sweet/supportive husband I have but for now I'm going to try and do it on my own. Stay tuned!!

I can't believe its been 2 1/2 years since Ashlyn was born-I look at Brody all the time and try and remember when she was his size and then I think he will be her size in NO TIME:( Ashlyn continues to AMAZE us each and everyday. She absolutely loves school (daycare)and we couldn't be happier with the progress she has made since starting there in June. I love how proud she is of her paintings and art work-I would say anything to do with painting/coloring/playdoh is her favorite activity right now. She loves to say her ABC's and count to 10 when she plays hide-n-seak with daddy. She has done so well with potty training and I can't remember the last time she had an accident. She still wears a pull-up at night-mommy isn't quite ready to test those waters yet:) In the mornings she likes to lay in our bed and watch Despicable Me or Toy Story 2 while I'm getting ready. Ryan and I are sitting here trying to compile a list of Ashlyn's favorite things to say and at this point there isn't much she doesn't say!! As Ryan says she is just like her mommy and has the "Gift of Gab!" Most of the time she is a wonderful big sister:) She loves when he first gets up in the mornings, she wants to give him a million kisses, help change his diaper, get him dressed and then rock and sing to him. I say she is wonderful most of the time b/c she has her moments of jealousy and playing to rough with him but it is definitely gotten better and he is full of smiles now when she bounces him in the bouncy seat or swings him fast in the swing. We love this little girl so much, yes she keeps us on our toes at all times with her endless amounts of energy and she is a little too independent at times but thats what makes you so special!!

We got the tape measure out the other night b/c I knew she had went thru a growth spurt-she is officially 3'3" and almost 30 pds.

I love to talk!

My last post I was telling you how Brody loves to talk to his little bears on his mobile. Last night I was folding laundry and he was laying in his bassinet just squealing and talking to them it was so funny. I have no idea what Ashlyn was doing she was making growling noises in the background but before I got my camera out she kept going in there laughing at him and saying, "Brody you talkin!"
