8 Months Old

I was trying to get Ashlyn to do SO BIG for the picture and this is what I got.

Our little girl with lots of personality has turned 8 months old today! WOW are things different around our house. . .Ashlyn is on the move and into everything. She still isn't up on all 4's crawling but that doesn't stop her from getting where she wants to go via army crawl. This week she started pulling herself up on things. Gosh we are so not ready for her to walk, please tell me that is MONTHS away!

Mommy has been working very hard on teaching her to say MaMa, every once in a while she will say it but her favorite word continues to be Da Da and a bunch of other words we don't understand. Her 2 bottom teeth have finally poked through, so cute when she gives us that cheezy grin. I don't have the official weight but if I go by my scale she is 19.6lbs and a little over 27 inches. Other than that we are so anxious for warm weather so we can go on walks and play outside!! So depressing to wake up this morning with 4 inches of snow on the ground.

Sharing my Mum Mum's

Well I think Ashlyn has figured out that if she bribes her big sister with a little food she will like her:) Z just sits next to Ashlyn waiting for her to drop something or for Ashlyn to feed her. Its amazing how gentle Z is, with us she about takes our hand off if we go to give her a treat. SO SWEET!

Introducing Kane Alan Aupperle

Look how precious my new little nephew is. Kane was born last night at 10:09 PM, it was a long day for mommy and daddy. Rachel was quite the tropper she endured 28+ hours of labor with NO DRUGS!! YOU GO GIRL!!
Kane weighed 7.2lbs and 19.5 inches long, he is absolutely perfect and I couldn't be a prouder aunt. I have never seen a baby with this much hair, the ole wise tell wasn't true for Rachel she never had any heart burn and look at hair on this little guy. Ashlyn really didn't know what to think, I think she just thought he was another toy so we had to hold her arms down so she wouldn't smack him. I'm sure this will change as Kane gets a little bigger, how great it will be seeing them grow up together.

My first 2 teeth

Ok you have to look really close to see them but they have finally poked through! Ashlyn finally has her 2 bottom teeth in. . .gosh she is just growing up so fast. I really thought she would be pretty fussy, especially cutting 2 at the same time but she wasn't. I did notice a decrease in her appetite for solids, just mostly wanted juice or bottle but other than that she has done really well. I took this picture after her bath the other night. . .I think her new jammies make her look so grown up.

Weekend in Fairbury

We finally had a free weekend so we could go up to Fairbury and hang-out with the Welborn Family. Saturday night Grandma and Grandpa Welborn had a slumber party with Ashlyn and Lainie. We went out for dinner with Jason and Brooke and then played a few games of Euchre. Ashlyn hadn't napped much on Saturday so by 7:30 she was in bed and Lainie went to bed shortly after so G & G didn't have much of a slumber party. Sunday morning Grandma fixed a HUGE breakfast for the whole family before we headed out to church. Grandma Phyllis was teasing Grandpa at breakfast for getting up several times to check on the girls and even sleeping with one hearing aid in just in case they got up. So funny! We tried to get a picture of the grandkids before church but this is the best we could do. Such a cute group of kids!

Sunday afternoon after we got home we played outside, it was gorgeous! Can't wait for Spring to be here. Ashlyn loves to be outside and its just nice not to be cooped up in the house. This is the first time Ashlyn felt grass, I was just amazed she didn't try and eat it.

Sydney Ellen Brown-3-2-09

Saturday on our way to Fairbury we stopped in Bloomington to meet Sydney Ellen. I know Ashlyn is still a baby but its hard for us to remember her being that tiny. She is so sweet, was wide awake the entire time we visited and never made a peep. Congratulations Dan and Sam! Ashlyn is so excited to have her 1st girlfriend.

Crawling Ashlyn Style

This week has been filled with a lot of firsts for Miss Ashlyn! Sunday she finally started crawling just not on all 4's! Oh and you will notice in the video that she LOVES to talk. She is very LOUD (not sure who she gets that from:) when Ryan and I leave the room she lets us know that we have left her unattended. Oh and she is finally cutting her 1st tooth, actually I think she is cutting 2 but I can only feel one. Grandma Jane and Great Aunt Annie taught her a few things while we were on our trip, she knows how to wave bye, well sort of she kind of does it when she feels like it so its been hard for me to capture it on video. So stinken cute though! They also taught her SO BIG but she seems to be getting that confused with Patty Cake. My little baby is growing up so quick:(

7 Months Old

My little peanut is 7 months old. I'm a few days late in posting this. . .tried to do it before we left on our cruise but that didn't happen. Ashlyn continues to amaze us everyday. Some of her new things she loves is patty cake and Grandma and Annie taught her SO BIG! So cute you say patty cake and she does it. . .I must say I think we have a very smart little girl. Still not crawling, she is so close, gets up on all 4's and lunges forward I guess you could say she has started army crawling. She figured out she can roll all over and get to her toys before she would just scream at them until we pushed them to her. Oh yes, she is very LOUD! Loves to say DA DA DA, Grandma and Annie tried to teach her MaMa this week but she has no interest. Ashlyn continues to be a very good eater, loves all of her fruits and most of her veggies. Stats at 7 months are 18.1 lbs 27 1/4 inches long.
