5 month update

Well another month has gone by and our sweet little girl is now 5 months. As you can see from the video she has mastered rolling over. She thinks she is big stuff now! The 1st couple of days she would roll from her back to tummy but not roll back to her back. Yesterday she was all over the place, there is no stopping her now. Ashlyn continues to be a great baby and over the past few weeks has developed quite a temper when her toys don't co-operate like she thinks they should. Its so funny to watch her get mad and do her angry scream at them.

Ashlyn weighs in at 16lbs 6ozs and just shy of 27 inches. No doubt about it, SHE LOVES TO EAT!! So far she has tried bananas, peaches, pears, squash, peas, green beans, and prunes. I can't say that she is crazy about the veggies but if I mix them with her oatmeal or rice she will eat them. I have also started to wean her from breastmilk but she isn't crazy about formula so its been a slow process.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Christmas 2008

Welborn Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with the Welborn side on Saturday. What an exciting day it was, 3 little girls celebrating their very 1st Christmas together. We wish Kerry, Jennifer and Brianna could have been here to share in the day. It was a chore trying to capture a picture of the kids, Mya (2), Ashlyn (5 months), Madilyn (6 months), Ty (5), Lannie (3 months).

Ty cheesing for the camera:)

Mya loves her babies, she loves to play mommy! So Cute!

I didn't get any pictures of Ashlyn opening her gifts, Daddy was running the video camera and I forgot to have someone take pictures.

Fun Family Pictures!

MORE PRESENTS! Ashlyn got A LOT of great gifts for her 1st Christmas. She got her very 1st American Girl Bitty Baby, another doll that is a collectors piece, a lion she can ride, books, clothes, learning table, shoes, drum, bath toys, and I'm sure I have forgot a few things. Lets just say the ride home Christmas night was interesting. . .Zelma was being attacked by flying toys in the back of the car and we got the joy of listening to all the noise makers all the way home.
Can't forget Zelma-she hates having her picture taken, Addie and Chelsea tried to get her to smile pretty.
Ashlyn with her Great Grandma Jane.

TWINS!?!? Taylor and Ashlyn look so much a like. . .especially when you compare Taylor's baby pictures to Ashlyn's. Taylor is just a little proud!

Grandma reading 'Twas the night before Christmas.'
Its been a tradition for many years that we all spend the night at my parents house Christmas eve and get up early Christmas morning to open presents. This year was extra special, It was Ashlyn's 1st Christmas. Next year will be even more fun when there are two little ones running around. Ashlyn was really into opening her presents. . .she couldn't wait to put EVERYTHING in her mouth. I love the picture with her in the box, reminds me when I was a kid I loved to go for rides in boxes and laundry baskets.

Sitting up like a BIG GIRL!

Well the picture isn't the best but you get the idea! Ashlyn is trying to sit up and she must think its pretty fun b/c she is all smiles. I can't believe how much she changes EVERYDAY!!!

Aupperle Christmas

Ashlyn and Aunt Rachel! Can't see her belly but my little cousin is getting pretty big:)

Ashlyn opening her very 1st Christmas present! She did pretty good, once she got ahold of the paper she ripped it right open. SO EXCITING!

Ashlyn cuddling with her Great-Grandma Aupperle. Saturday was the start of our Christmas'. It was such a great day! Everyone was able to make it this year, we have a pretty large group. . .enough for a full football team. Yes, every year the old men and the younger kids all play football. I didn't get a picture but it is always funny to watch. The old men still think they can run with the young ones. . .I'm sure the next day they were all hurting.

One more thing we are very Thankful for this year! We are so fortunate that Ryan is with a company that is boosting despite the economic slowdown.

Yummy. . .cereal!

Ashlyn has been on rice cereal for a couple weeks but all the sudden she decided she didn't like it anymore. So at her 4 month appt. I asked the Dr. if it was ok to switch to oatmeal and start mixing in veggies and fruits. Dr. Hunter said go for it!! Ashlyn LOVES the oatmeal and tonight I mixed in some squash and she was all smiles and giggles. I pray she isn't a finicky eater like her Mommy. She also loves being in her highchair, before I fed her in her bouncy seat but now that she sits up so good she can be in her chair.

All Ready for Christmas!

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday but this year is even more special now that we have our little girl to share it with. I think I finally have all my decorating done and I even have my shopping 95% done just have to finish all the wrapping. If your wondering, the tree is artificial! I know one of these years we are going to have to go out and chop down the perfect tree but for now I really love my BIG prelit one that doesn't die.

Thanksgiving 2008. . .

What a WONDERFUL 1st Thanksgiving we had with our beautiful little girl. We truly have so much to be Thankful for this year and enjoyed sharing the days with our wonderful families. Our Thanksgiving started Thursday,we spent Thanksgiving day in Fairbury at my Aunt Lori's house and then Grandma & Grandpa Aupperle's. We had a great meal and lots of fun talking about how different next year would be with two more little ones running around. We kept joking that Ashlyn would be the boss and telling the other two, "NO, MINE." I guess time will tell.

I'm not sure who she gets that mouth from:-) That's my "Little Turkey."

Friday night we had a slumber party at our house! Ryan's Parents, his brother Jason and wife Brooke and our little niece Lainie all stayed with us. Ryan and Jason spent most of the evening teaching their parents how to play Euchre while Brooke and I played with the girls. Then Saturday we all got up and had a HUGE Breakfast and started preparing the Thanksgiving meal for Saturday night. What a blessed year we have had on the Welborn side, 3 little girls and all are healthy and happy!

We tried to get a good picture of all the girls looking at the camera but no such luck! Mya was the only one willing to cooperate.

Madilyn and Ashlyn are a little over 5 weeks apart, can't really tell in this picture but Maddie is still bigger. . .they are so cute together.

4 Months Old

Today was Ashlyn's 4 month check-up. She did so much better with her shots. She started to cry but as soon as Ryan picked her up she stopped and was fine the rest of the day.
Her 4 month stats:
15lbs 1oz-75%
26 inches-97%
42.5 cm-75%

Dr. Hunter said she is really developing well and said her motor skills are EXCELLENT! I can't believe my baby is already 4 months old. I can't imagine our lives without her nor do I remember what life was like before her.
Her favorite things; bumbo chair, mommy & daddy (she laughs more at daddy), her paci, mommy's milk, her feet (as you can see in the picture below), swing, toys, anything she can put in her mouth and slobber on:-)

All my friends

I should have taken a video of this instead of a picture! It was so cute watching her with all her friends and listening to her talk to them was even funnier. She has quite the personality.

My cute new hat!

It's still a little big but she still looks like a cutie.

A Bout with the Flu!!

Well it all started last Tuesday, I had to go pick Ashlyn up from the sitters b/c Cohlton was puking and Sami was worried he had the flu. Wednesday morning Sami called and said Cohlton was better but now she had it. So I called my back up sitter to see if she could watch Ashlyn b/c I had a mandatory meeting that day and Ryan is busy with inventory. Thank god we have Margaret!! Thursday she was back to the sitter, Sami, Cohlton and Ashlyn are all back to normal and Sami's house had been completely disinfected so we thought we are good.

Then comes Thursday night!! I got home from work and Ryan complained that he wasn't feeling to good, immediately I think oh god its the FLU. Sure enough he had it. So we sent him off to bed and tried to stay far away but a few hours later I was running to the bathroom too. Thank God Ashlyn was already in bed for the night by the time I got sick. By morning Ryan was at least able to get out of bed to get her and bring her to me so I could feed her, which sucked (no pun intended) any remaining energy out of me. By noon he was feeling pretty good so he was taking care of Ashlyn and I was upstairs trying to drink as many fluids as I could. Then came time we should both try and eat a little something but NOTHING sounds good so thought we better go with ole faithful, Chicken Noodle Soup and Saltines. . .go figure we have no Chix Noodle. I know neither of us are well enough to leave the house so I call over to Kim's across the street and she had some so I told her to leave it on the porch b/c I don't want anyone to be in contact with what we have. After keeping the soup down we were on the road to recovery and preparing for Ashlyn to get sick at any moment. The weekend came and went and Ashlyn never got it, THANK GOD!

Love this picture!

My sitter sends me at least one picture every day of Ashlyn, sometimes I get videos. It really helps me get through my day b/c I miss her like crazy. This is one of my favorites, look how much she has changed when you compare it to her newborn picture. Not sure how we produced such a beautiful little girl:-)

New Discoveries!

Ashlyn has this new fascination with pulling her paci out of her mouth, she stares at it, throws it then gets mad when she can't figure out how to get it back in her mouth. Its so funny to watch her, she is such a studier, she has been this way since the day she was born.

Ashlyn is really into her feet these days. Makes it difficult when I'm trying to change her diaper b/c she gets so mad when I'm holding her legs down. She tries really hard to get them in her mouth but I think her belly hinders her from doing that:)

November 11, 2008

Over Stimulated!

Ashlyn and I did some shopping yesterday since I was off for Veterans Day. We have been trying to figure out if we should get her a walker, exersaucer, or an activity jumper. She loves to stand and be in motion so I thought she would like the activity jumper the best. SHE LOVES IT! If you click on the picture and enlarge it you can see the excitement in her eyes. She can touch the floor on her tippy toes and reach all the toys if we put a blanket behind her back, I see hours of entertainment in our future:)

November 10, 2008

She did it!

Well we knew it wouldn't be long before Ashlyn rolled over. I was in the middle of fixing dinner and Ryan decided to put her on her tummy to see if she would do it. Before I had a chance to get the video camera out she had rolled over. I quick got the video camera and we tried cheering her on to do it again but once was all for tonight. So stay tuned for a video.

Ashlyn & Lainie

Jason, Brooke and Lainie came for a visit over the weekend. We had so much fun! Ashlyn enjoyed hanging out with her little cousin. We can't wait to watch them grow up together.

I tried to get a good picture of them laying next to each other. Ashlyn didn't seem to mind her cousin bopping her upside the head, we will see how long that lasts.

November 4, 2008

Gabber Box!!

I finally captured Ashlyn blabbering. . .its the cutest thing! Last week at the sitters Sami sent me a couple videos of Ashlyn gabbing and Ryan swore last night she was trying to say dada. Of course this was before I got home from work so I'm not buying it. Tonight after her bath she was a blabber box. . .hum I wonder who she gets that from. My mom said I was talking complete sentences by the time I was one.

1st Halloween-Trick-or-Treat

Ashlyn's Great Grandma Righter bought her this outfit, so cute! Thank You!
I can't remember a Halloween when it wasn't raining, windy or freezing outside. Ashlyn really enjoyed the evening, we sat outside and passed out candy to all our little trick-or-treaters. Ashlyn looked so cute in her Princess costume that her Aunt Rachel made her. Thanks Aunt Rach~next year you can make your little guy something.

It's hard to get a picture of Zelma with her tongue in her mouth.

October 29, 2008

3 Months!! Wow has she changed!

Ashlyn is 3 months already. She is 13 pds and 24 inches. As you can see in the other pictures she is becoming a BIG GIRL in so many ways. I had to take a picture in her "Mom Rocks" shirt, all her clothes say something about being "Daddy's Girl." Which is true she thinks Daddy is pretty funny and really has him wrapped around her little finger.

The sitter had sent me a picture the other day of Ashlyn holding her bottle but I had to see it for myself. I usually don't give her a bottle at home since I'm still breastfeeding but I wanted to see her in action. Sure enough, she holds it with both hands and just stares at me, like she is trying to tell me, "See Mommy I can do it all by myself."

This picture cracks me up! After her bath last night I put her in her turtle robe and slippers. It was hard to capture a picture with her looking at the camera, she just kept staring at those cool slippers. She holds her head so good and it won't be long before she is sitting up and rolling over on her own. Anyone know how to slow them down, they grow up way to fast?

So last night I'm sitting at the computer and usually Ashlyn will just stare at the screen. She decided last night it was time to try out the keyboard. Drool was just coming out her mouth, dripping onto the keyboard, it was hysterical!
