Its so hard for me to believe that 3 years have passed since our family was blessed with our 1st child and looking at these pictures makes me realize how much Ashlyn has changed this past year and how grown up she is starting to become. She no longer has that baby face with all her little rolls:( She has such an outgoing personality, on the go non stop and doesn't know a stranger (which is good and bad if you ask mommy and daddy). She is still in the "WHY" stage and even though we know that she is just being inquisitive and learning its starting to get REALLY OLD! Our neighbor said to her the other day she gets 2 Why's and it worked-I think I need to try it:)

Newborn
She loves to be outside playing with the neighbor girls, helping daddy mow, swimming or going down the slip n slide, helping mommy water flowers, going for walks, pretty much anything and everything associated with being outdoors. Even though its been a HOT HOT summer I dread thinking about the winter months and not being able to enjoy all the fun of being outdoors.

Ashlyn still loves to watch Elmo almost every morning before school but her new favorite movies are Toy Story 2 & 3, Cars 1, and Finding Nemo. She is loving her little brother more and more each day she loves to hold him and read stories or their favorite is to play hide-n-seek. Now that he is mobile she loves to tattle on him if he is getting into something he shouldn't be and she is always telling him "no no Brody you get a boo boo." Its so cute! She still takes an afternoon nap at school and on the weekends if we aren't on the go!

Ashlyn's Favorites
Food: CANDY, french fries, popsicles, yogurt, mac-n-cheese, hotdogs
Toys: Babies, books, bikes, building blocks, going grocery shopping
Sayings: I be right back, WHY, I missed you, come over, I was good today(love this one),you little stinker, I want that for my birthday mommy (was her favorite thing for the past 3 months), the list is pretty much endless, she talks non stop and her vocabulary is pretty amazing. She knows her full name and everyone in our family's full name and usually calls Ryan-DADDY RYAN WELBORN or BRODY ALAN WELBORN. The other morning Ashlyn went over to the neighbors house and Katie was still sleeping and Kim said she went to wake Katie up and said KATIE WELBORN get out of bed. For the longest time she thought everyone's name had a Ryan in it or Welborn.

Wow I can’t believe it’s been three years since the day our little girl was born. I can’t even imagine life without her.
Ashlyn is “Ashlyn” and that the only way I can summarize her, she is unique every since of the word.
Ashlyn is one of the most outgoing active 3 yr olds you will ever meet. Even on her worst days she is the apple of her daddy’s eyes. That little girl melts her daddy’s heart in a way I never thought was possible. Every day is a new experience for her and us, you never know what “Why daddy or mommy” is going to come out of her mouth. There is no fooling or distracting her when she wants something or wants something answered. The one thing that always amazes me about her is her memory, she remembers people or things that she has met or saw once. Lets not forget the daily directions she gives us to tumbling or swim lessons. She directs us like we are a 16 yr old driving for the 1st time and we are lost. The cool thing is she is usually pretty spot on. Maybe that is typical but she seems so exceptional and I beam with pride when I talk about her. I never thought my favorite topic would be to talk about my two beautiful kids. Before I had children I was always bored by people who constantly talked about their kids. Sad part is now I am one of those people and I don’t even care, because they are my world.
I wouldn’t change a thing about either one of them.
I love you my perfect little angel. You make me want to be a better husband, father, and person….. I need no more incentive than I never want to disappoint you, Mom, and Brody.
