1st Pedi with Mommy & her new Bounce House

Well Friday morning (Ashlyn's birthday) didn't start out how I had planned we had a nasty storm come thru early that morning and blew out the power and also caused a sewer back up at daycare so they had to close.  I woke up with a terrible sore throat as well so overall the day started out pretty crappy.  My plan for Friday was to work that morning so Ashlyn could take her birthday snacks (that took me 2 hours the night before to make) then I would pick her up after lunch and we could spend the afternoon together, go get pedi's and go to the pool.  Well all that got scrapped b/c daycare was closed and we didn't get power at home until 10.  Ryan was finally able to get off work about 2 so I ran to urgent care to see if I had strep and that came back negative said its just a virus.  I ran a few errands while the kids were both napping and FINALLY Ashlyn and I went to have a pedicure.
She was sooo good-I was worried she wouldn't sit long enough for me to get one but she was a good girl.  She just didn't understand why she couldn't put her feet in the tub like mommy.

When we got home from Pedi's daddy had her bounce house set up-she was SOOO excited.  I have to tell you if it was up to me she would have got a picnic table from us that had a cute little umbrella but Ryan scrapped that idea and said that wasn't a FUN gift.  THE KID HAS EVERYTHING does she really need a bounce house too-well I lost the arguement as you can see!
Looks like Brody will get a lot of use out of it too:)
From the looks of it Daddy wanted to buy it for his own fun:)

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY ASHLYN RYANN

Its so hard for me to believe that 3 years have passed since our family was blessed with our 1st child and looking at these pictures makes me realize how much Ashlyn has changed this past year and how grown up she is starting to become.  She no longer has that baby face with all her little rolls:(  She has such an outgoing personality, on the go non stop and doesn't know a stranger (which is good and bad if you ask mommy and daddy).  She is still in the "WHY" stage and even though we know that she is just being inquisitive and learning its starting to get REALLY OLD!  Our neighbor said to her the other day she gets 2 Why's and it worked-I think I need to try it:)
 Newborn
She loves to be outside playing with the neighbor girls, helping daddy mow, swimming or going down the slip n slide, helping mommy water flowers, going for walks, pretty much anything and everything associated with being outdoors.  Even though its been a HOT HOT summer I dread thinking about the winter months and not being able to enjoy all the fun of being outdoors.
1 year
Ashlyn still loves to watch Elmo almost every morning before school but her new favorite movies are Toy Story 2 & 3, Cars 1, and Finding Nemo.  She is loving her little brother more and more each day she loves to hold him and read stories or their favorite is to play hide-n-seek.  Now that he is mobile she loves to tattle on him if he is getting into something he shouldn't be and she is always telling him "no no Brody you get a boo boo."  Its so cute! She still takes an afternoon nap at school and on the weekends if we aren't on the go!

Ashlyn's Favorites
Food: CANDY, french fries, popsicles, yogurt, mac-n-cheese, hotdogs
Toys: Babies, books, bikes, building blocks, going grocery shopping
Sayings: I be right back, WHY, I missed you, come over, I was good today(love this one),you little stinker, I want that for my birthday mommy (was her favorite thing for the past 3 months), the list is pretty much endless, she talks non stop and her vocabulary is pretty amazing.  She knows her full name and everyone in our family's full name and usually calls Ryan-DADDY RYAN WELBORN or BRODY ALAN WELBORN.  The other morning Ashlyn went over to the neighbors house and Katie was still sleeping and Kim said she went to wake Katie up and said KATIE WELBORN get out of bed.  For the longest time she thought everyone's name had a Ryan in it or Welborn.

Not to keep going on and on about our little Princess (because I could) but Ryan wanted to share his comments and stories as well so here is his post!!

Wow I can’t believe it’s been three years since the day our little girl was born. I can’t even imagine life without her.
Ashlyn is “Ashlyn” and that the only way I can summarize her, she is unique every since of the word.

Ashlyn is one of the most outgoing active 3 yr olds you will ever meet. Even on her worst days she is the apple of her daddy’s eyes. That little girl melts her daddy’s heart in a way I never thought was possible. Every day is a new experience for her and us, you never know what “Why daddy or mommy” is going to come out of her mouth. There is no fooling or distracting her when she wants something or wants something answered. The one thing that always amazes me about her is her memory, she remembers people or things that she has met or saw once. Lets not forget the daily directions she gives us to tumbling or swim lessons. She directs us like we are a 16 yr old driving for the 1st time and we are lost. The cool thing is she is usually pretty spot on. Maybe that is typical but she seems so exceptional and I beam with pride when I talk about her. I never thought my favorite topic would be to talk about my two beautiful kids. Before I had children I was always bored by people who constantly talked about their kids. Sad part is now I am one of those people and I don’t even care, because they are my world.

I wouldn’t change a thing about either one of them.

I love you my perfect little angel. You make me want to be a better husband, father, and person….. I need no more incentive than I never want to disappoint you, Mom, and Brody.

Brody's 9 Month Update & E'Maw Phwis turns the BIG 50:)

E-Maw Phwis turned the BIG 50 today so to celebrate we took her and Paw Paw out to eat at Outback (which is Ryan's favorite restaurant) the kids were so good considering it took almost 2 hours.  We had such a great time and even tho Emaw hates celebrating bdays I think she REALLY enjoyed the evening.  So lucky to have such an amazing mother in law and Emaw.

Brody also turned 9 months-OMG its so hard for me to think and say he is 9 Months already and even harder for me to believe my baby girl will be 3 next Friday!  It was another month of milestones, he is officially crawling on all 4's VERY quickly, pulling himself up to everything and he has 4 teeth.  Let me tell ya about his 4 teeth-his top 2 are HUGE and Ryan and I joke around calling him Beaver.  Everyone says his head will grow into them-I sure hope so:)  I know all mommies say this about their little boys but now that I'm a mommy of one I have to say I love that he is a momma's boy!!  He still loves to cuddle and fall asleep in my arms he continues to be laid back and just as happy and sweet as he can be.  He usually goes down between 8 & 8:30 and gets up around 7 and takes 2 good naps a day (he has always been a good sleeper).  He also loves to EAT but I'm beginning to wonder where he puts it all-he still takes 4-5 7 oz bottles and 3 meals a day but only weighs in at 18lbs. (25%).  He is 28 inches wears size 3 diapers and 9-12 month clothes.  Made me super sad when the Dr. said see you back for his 1 year check up-I know its going to be here before I know it.

Hide-N-Seek take 2!!

My camera battery was running low so I didn't capture as much as I wanted to, I hope you find it as funny as they did:)

Hide-N-Seek

Ashlyn loves to play Hide-N-Seek with Brody-this went on the other night for probably 20 minutes -here is a short clip. I love to hear them laughing at one another, so adorable.

We have a Crawler!!

Monday night we got home from Swim Lessons and Ryan got Brody out of his car seat and then went outside to light the grill and I turned around and Brody was up on all 4's crawling!  I couldn't believe it!!  I immediately ran to ask Ryan if they said anything at daycare about him crawling and he said no.  AWW he saved it for me to see 1st.  He has been army crawling for a month or so and on 4th of July he would crawl in the grass but not in the house.  Of course this brings mixed emotions b/c that means he is growing up, he is my last baby and he is soon going to be into EVERYTHING.  Look at the excitement on his little face-he is seriously the best little boy anyone could ask for.

Swim Lessons

This is our 3rd summer having Ashlyn in swim lessons but this year she graduated to the next class which means the parents get to sit and watch:)  I thought that would be AWESOME-not having to rush home get changed into our suits but its soooo HOT right now I really wish I could be in the pool with her.  We could have put Brody in tadpole lessons but I decided to wait until next summer-again I wanted a summer off of not having to get in the pool!  We usually put him in his trunks and let him splash around which he loves.
Look how cute she is-I can't believe she is almost 3-sniff, sniff
She is constantly yelling at us to watch her.

I have a cute video on my phone just trying to figure out how to get it on my blog-she loves to go under now.

We Love Tremont Pool

We didn't have ANY plans over the weekend-which was WONDERFUL!!!  Saturday Ryan wanted to pressure wash the house and clean the windows and screens (KNOCK YOURSELF OUT) so Brody hung out with Daddy and Ashlyn and I had the afternoon to ourselves and decided to head over to Tremont Pool.  It wasn't busy at all and we love the kiddie pool area b/c its separate and gated so I can relax and not have to worry about her running off.  After 3 hours I still had to drag her out of there.
Sunday afternoon we all headed back over and this was Brody's 1st BIG POOL experience.  He loved it!  I'm so lucky that both of my kids love the water.
Look at those hunks-sorry hun I cut your head off:)
Ashlyn was all about jumping in the BIG POOL-she really wanted to go off the   diving board but I'm not ready for that yet:)
This kid never runs out of ENERGY!!
Too much fun in the sun!

Da Da Da

I was organizing my videos and pictures today and found this video taken about a month ago!  Little stinker says Da Da all the time-oh well we all know he's a total Mama's boy:)  Ryan can be holding him and the minute he hears my voice or if I walk in the room he will cry until I come pick him up-I LOVE IT!!!!

4th of July Weekend

Our Weekend started on Friday the 1st-we played in a memorial golf outing with my Grandma, Dustin and aunt Lori-it was extremely hot but tons of fun.  The kids stayed with Emaw Phyllis and then we came back and spent the night b/c they also had Lainie and Aubrey for the weekend.  The kids had a lot of fun playing together especially Ashlyn and Lainie-they get along so well and are so cute together-they mimic each others every move (good and bad)!  Saturday we headed home and did stuff around the house and then Sunday morning we headed to Peoria to meet Dustin, Tess and Asher at the River.  They have never taken their boat on the river and decided it was the perfect day to do so.  Brody stayed with our neighbors-I'm just not ready for him to be out on a boat yet-maybe next summer!  I didn't take any pics I left that up to the QUEEN OF PHOTOGRAPHY-Tess and she took some really great shots from the weekend.  After a few hours on the river we headed back to our house for a cookout and then some neighbors were shooting off fireworks for hours so the kids thought that was pretty fun.
Monday my parents, Matt, Rachel, Kane and our neighbors came over for a little fun in the HOT SUN and a cookout!
Brody's 1st time in the pool-he loved it!
He only got to stay in and play about 10 minutes-I was worried even with 50 sunblock lil pasty white boy would fry!
Kane & Ashlyn had a few water fights
Ashlyn jumping in the pool for the 100th time-this kid never wears out.

Emaw brought the kids some fireworks-Ashlyn loved the smoke bombs and pops
Brody was crawling all over on all 4's in the grass but its the only place he will.  He is still army crawling in the house-I'm not sure what the difference is.
I think 4th of July is my 2nd favorite holiday especially when it falls just right to make it a nice LONG weekend.

I love Bath Time

check out those stumpy lil legs
Brody loves to pull himself up on everything but his favorite is the bath tub-he gets so excited when I'm filling it up and putting his toys in.  He will lift his legs like he is trying to climb in:)  So cute but not cute when its time to get out-he SCREAMS!!!
