2 month dr appt

Brody had his 2 month check-up today and it was a rough day for him. He had to get his blood re-drawn from when he was sick a couple weeks ago to make sure his liver enzymes were back to normal. Then after that they gave him 3 shots. He was hysterical and I was proud of myself I held it together. Good news his enzymes are back to normal and the dr. said he looks perfect.

He is 11.15lbs 75%-23.5 long-75% and I can't remember his head size but it was only in the 50% so for now he has a little head with a BIG double chin:)

Christmas Day

Santa brought Ashlyn "lucky" for Christmas oh and he didn't forget to bring her some candy canes and balloons. She was so confused when she got up b/c she didn't understand why when santa came that she didn't get to sit on his lap. After we got our showers and the kids packed up we headed to my parents house to see what Santa brought!!

This is scary! RJ in Grandpa Denny's xmas outfit-he looks JUST like him-so hard not having Grandpa here, he LOVED Christmas and I know he would be grining from ear to ear watching his great grandbabies enjoying Christmas. I miss him everyday!

Well another Christmas has passed and it was a WONDERFUL time spent with our families. We have Welborn Christmas this Saturday and there will be a new addition-Brooke is being induced on Thursday and we are so excited to meet their little boy or girl.

Christmas Eve cont.

We had such an awesome Christmas Eve at home. Since we head to my parents house early Christmas Day we decided to open some presents Christmas Eve that way she could play and have some fun and not feel all rushed to open. She was so excited this year about Santa coming and bringing her presents all she asked for was balloons and candy canes. It was soo cute she was so excited to put cookies and milk out for santa but she didn't understand why she couldn't sit on santa's lap when he came to her house. She is to darn smart!!

Brody wasn't all that excited about opening his presents but Ashlyn was HAPPY to open them!

She was so excited about her new BIKE as she calls it -its a smart cycle that we hook up to the TV but her legs aren't quite long enough to pedal so she hasn't got to play it much.

Christmas Eve cont.-having some fun in the snow

She hated to wear her gloves! I was so excited that it snowed Christmas Eve-it was such a pretty snowfall and it was just nice to spend the day with our little family and not have to travel. When Brody was napping we decided to get bundled up and go have a little fun in the snow. I really wanted to make a snowman but it wasn't good packing snow:( So Ashlyn and Daddy had a little snowball fight and she thought it was pretty funny-couldn't tell in the pics cause Ashlyn has that serious look in all of them but I promise she cried when it was time to go in. Santa brought her a sled to Emaw and Paw Paw Aupperle's house and we have a lot of fun little hills in pekin so hopefully that will be the next snow adventure:)

We had so much fun making sugar cookies for Santa-as you can see Ashlyn really got into it-look at the flour EVERY WHERE!! I forgot to take pictures of her decorating them-I think she licked the icing off every cookie and then put it back on the tray for santa to eat!!

I finally let the kids take a bath together tonight-Ashlyn was SOOOO excited and she did a great job washing him and giving him lots of kisses-it was so cute.

Brody's two months

Ashlyn & Brody at 2 months. Ok I know I'm biased but they are the CUTEST babies:) I think they have a lot of similarities in their looks and personalities.

It's hard to believe that Brody is 2 months already-its true time goes so fast with the 2nd one. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and is the most content and happy little boy. He smiles and coos all the time but especially when daddy is holding him. He is in a great routine he usually goes down for bed around 8:30 or 9:00 wakes around 5 or 5:30 eats and goes back down until 8 or sometimes 9:) Then we have our bath and play for a little bit and he usually takes a nap for 2 or 3 hrs and then an early evening nap too. I know this will probably all change in week when I return to work but I'm hoping it won't. He is just finishing up the last of stage 1 diapers, barely fitting in his 3 month clothes so we are moving into the 3-6 month sleepers and onesies. He doesn't go for shots until the 29th so I weighed him with me today and he was 11.9lbs and I measured him at 23 inches so we will see next week how accurate my measurements were. Ashlyn is doing so much better with him, she loves when I put him in the bassinet when I'm getting ready and talks to him and plays patty cake. The other day the conversation went like this, "Brody you like my shirt, I like your shirt Brody" and "You like my hair Brody?"

Ashlyn got some crayola wonder magic markers and as you can see she had to show everyone how they worked. I think the big kids were jealous they didn't get some b/c they were hogging it the rest of the afternoon.

Saturday we celebrated Christmas with the Aupperle side. I really wish I would have gotten more pictures of our HUGE family-I think this year there were 35 of us at my parents house. We always have lots to catch up on and lots of good laughs!!
