Our Saturday morning started out pretty interesting! Ryan left by 7 to go out golfing with some buddies and
Ashlyn and I were going to go shopping that afternoon in Peoria with Sam and Sydney. I decided I needed to vacuum out the car, clear out my good will stuff that has been in there for a week and load up the stroller. Of course
Ashlyn was right there to help mommy out!! So while I was vacuuming she was climbing around messing around in the front. All the doors are shut at this point just the back hatch is open so I shut it and walk around to the passenger side to find it LOCKED!!!!! OH CRAP!!!!!!!!!! I frantically run around the car checking all the doors and of course there all locked.
Ok deep breathe-I call Ryan and he said call
Onstar they will
onlock them right away-DUH!!! So I call
onstar and the wonderful lady informed me that our subscription had expired a few months ago and they have no signal to our car so she can't help me! Your probably wondering why I just didn't use the extra key we have or key fab and that is b/c of course we only have one set!! So I call Ryan back-after 15 min. of me trying to bribe her with M&M's to hit the unlock button-and he tells me to call the police they will come right out since its a baby in the car.
Ok-feeling like an idiot at this point I call 911 and she tells me she will send an officer right out and the fire dept. will have to come too. WHAT!!!!!! Why in the world does the fire dept need to be dispatched??? She said they always do when the police are called out. OH GOD-how
embarrassing. I hang up and call my neighbor Kim right away to see if her girls are up and want to come over and try and see if they will have any luck sweet talking my little peanut into unlocking the doors-
Ashlyn adores them. Within 10 minutes of calling 911 I have about 15 people in the garage, 3 firefighters, 3 police officers, 1 tow truck guy, and my neighbors. Oh and
Ashlyn is not scared one bit, she is just bouncing all over the car smiling and staring at everyone as they are trying to bribe her into pulling the nob to unlock the door. Finally after about 30 min. pass the tow truck guy gets the door unlocked and the police officer rescues her-not that she wanted to come out she was having a good ole time in the car all by herself.
Oh and the best part is the guy put about a 3 inch crack in the passenger window-and the cost to replace it will be about $800 bucks-oh what a day!!!!!!!!! I guess I can only be mad at myself b/c I never thought to get an extra key made-well lesson learned-onstar subscription is now renewed for another year and an extra key is made.
Sunday Me & Ashlyn joined Dustin, Tess & Asher for their 1st boating experience w/ kiddos. Overall I think it went really well-Ashlyn didn't really care for her life jacket or swimming in the deep water with Mommy. I think she hated the way the jacket made her lay flat on her back. So we decided to beach it the rest of the afternoon with some other friends. Then she loved it!!

Asher wasn't so sure about the water so he played in the boat most of the afternoon-loved this water gun.
