Zaiser Pumpkin Patch

A couple Sunday's ago the weather was perfect-almost to perfect b/c I knew with it being so nice every pumpkin patch would be a zoo.  So after much thought -I just wasn't in the mood to deal with all the craziness.  I called my sister-in-law to see if her, Kane and my mom (men were all watching golf & football) wanted to meet up at our friends pumpkin farm outside Deer Creek.
It was perfect-it was just us and another family so John took us out to the patch for all of us to pick out our "Great Pumpkin"

Brody picked out this one
Sissy thought this one was perfect
Look at all our BIG pumpkins
Look how sweet-they held hands the ride back
We were exctied to meet Honkey their new Donkey-and their new goats.  Brody kepts saying "I don't like it mommy."
Ashlyn told him they were nice so he decided it would be ok to pet them:)

Fun times at Schramm Playground

The kids love to go to Schramm playground & mommy loves it too b/c the play area is completely fenced in and has blue rubber instead of concrete.
Ashlyn was all about posing for pics & Brody was being his usual "hammy" self.  We are loving the beautiful evenings and trying to get as much fun stuff in before the weather turns:(

She needs NO help on the swings she can pump her legs and go SUPER high!
Brody wasn't fond of the little seats that spin super fast but lil dare devil was.
Really mom!

Off to check out some squirrels

Ashlyn at 4 years old

So I totally stole this idea off Pinterest & Leelou Blogs.  I had no problem downloading her free templates but couldn't figure out how to edit the darn things.  I finally figured out if I downloaded it into photo editor I could add my picture and text-I like to use ipiccy!  I'm still learning but hey its not to bad:)
So I know Ashlyn turned 4 a month ago but I did actually do my interview with her on our trip home from Kentucky & started most of this post just took a little while for me to get it done.

Today my first born turns 4!  I still remember it like yesterday & how that day and everyday after you have blessed our family, we love you so much.  When I look back at pictures from just 6 months ago I can't believe how much you have changed.  Your "baby" features are starting to fade and you no longer let me call you my baby because you tell me your to "big" now.  So "big" that next year you will start Kindergarten.  This will be your last year at St. Paul & you will be moving into the preschool room in a few short weeks.  The other day we were pulling into school and Ashlyn says, "Mommy when will I go to High School? I have been going here like 10 years!" LOL!!

You have always been a dare devil & never scared to try new things.  You are the best big sister & love your snuggle time in the mornings with bubby and in the evenings with mommy.  I enjoy listening to your conversations with your imaginary friends & when your the "teacher" and reading stories or showing your brother how to color a pretty picture.  I just wish I could freeze time b/c your daddy & I are loving and cherishing these moments!!!

Mornings start with either a bowl of apple cinnamon oatmeal, strawberry poptart, strawberry bagel w/ strawberry cream cheese, yogurt & on occasion we have pancakes or french toast.  Ashlyn is usually a pretty good eater and we always try and sit down as a family for dinner.  Some evenings it may take an hour for you to finish your plate depending on what we are having-your favorites are corn, potatoes, hot dogs & corn dogs, pizza, tacos, strawberries, grapes, chicken strips & chips & salsa.

You LOVE to swim, jump on the trampoline, tumble & are so close to perfecting a cart wheel, swing & now you can pump your legs and go SUPER high, ride your scooter & bike just to name a few!  Most days you still take a little nap or least lay down for quiet time with a favorite movie usually Finding Nemo or Little Mermaid.
Your in a size 4T shirt & shorts/pants, size 10 shoes.  You are just shy of 43 inches and 37 pds.
Happy 4th Birthday Ashlyn Ryann-we love you to the moon & back!!
                                                                                                                 Love, Mommy & Daddy

New Patio Expansion

When we built our house (almost 6 yrs ago-which is hard to believe) we thought the patio would be plenty big but then we had 2 kids that have LOTS of riding toys and of course always want to ride them on the sidewalk & patio area which made the area seem VERY small.  So Ryan came up with a plan to expand!!

So 275 pavers and 175 retaining wall blocks later I would say he did an AMAZING job & the only help he had was from the kiddos:)  Actually Ashlyn was a BIG helper she stayed home one monday & helped all day and LOVED every minute he said.
