Saturday night after the kids went to bed I was picking up the house and found Zelma sleeping in Brody's bouncy seat like this:) It was
sooo sweet!! Its been a sad couple of weeks not knowing how much longer Zelma will be a part of our family. About 2 weeks ago she started having
seizures and the Dr.'s aren't quiet sure whats causing them. She has a mass by her liver and the
dr. said its either her gall bladder
inflamed or its cancer. We have had her on a bunch of medicine for 2 weeks and Wed. she goes back for a follow-up
xray and blood work to see if its working and if the mass has went down in size. If it hasn't then the
dr. said we will just have to assume its cancer unless we want to have it biopsied. We have decided since Zelma is almost 10 we won't do anything invasive or surgery unless we know it will prolong her life in a healthy manner. With
bullmastiffs having a life expectancy of 8-10 years we are trying to prepare ourselves for the decisions we might be faced with. She is seriously the BEST dog and I know we will never have another dog as good as she is. She is WONDERFUL with
Ashlyn and loves all the kids in our neighborhood and I can't imagine not having her around everyday to greet us when we get home.
