9 Month Update

Ashlyn loves to help mommy in the kitchen! The problem is she can't just pull one or two things out she has to pull everything out and then its on to the next cabinet. Yes I know its time to put the latches on but for now we just keep a close eye on her and I don't mind her pulling out the tupperware it keeps her entertained and out of the dishwasher and away from the stove.
Our little punkin is 9 months old already! Its been a rough week for us, Monday afternoon Ashlyn started running a temp. I knew we had her scheduled 9 month appt Tuesday morning but I was really concerned it might be something serious (this is the 1st time she has ran a temp) so I called the dr. office and the nurse said just to start motrin and moniter her and if her temp spiked above 104 to go to the ER. So monday night we didn't get much sleep b/c I was constantly checking her temp. but the good news is we didn't have to go to the ER. We got to the dr. Tuesday and all the tests came back negative so the Dr. decided to send us to the Hospital for a chest X-ray to see if she had Pneumonia. At this point we are pretty anxious/nervous to find out why our little girl is sick. They would only allow one of us to take her in for the x-ray so I sat in the waiting room and Ry took her in, I had no idea they were going to place her in this seat restraint so she wouldn't move. She was screaming and I felt so helpless just sitting out there listening to her cry. So after that they sent us home to wait for the results. After waiting a few hours with no call I called the dr. office to see what was going on and the nurse said the x-ray wasn't conclusive that she had Pneumonia but the dr. said she thinks that we needed to be safe and start the antibiotic and then rerun the chest x-ray in 2 weeks. So we started the antibiotic Tuesday night and by morning her fever had broke. Ryan and I hated to say this but it was nice having our little snuggle bear back for a couple days, we miss that now that she is miss independant!! Looking back the past 9 months we are so blessed to have this be Ashlyn's first major sickness.
