Sick little girl:(

I got a call Tuesday afternoon from the sitter saying Ashlyn woke up from her nap with a temp. I left work and got her home and her temp was over 103. Of course I instantly freaked out b/c she has NEVER ran a temp that high. She had no other symptoms of being sick other than the high fever and just wanting to be snuggled(which I love). Called the Dr's office and they said to monitor her temp and if it got over 105 to go to the ER otherwise they would see her 1st thing Wed. Went to the Dr. yesterday and they swabbed her for Flu and Strep and both Negative-Dr. said that its best to go ahead and treat her for the flu so she prescribed Tamiflu. We were at the Dr's last week for her 15 month check-up and we decided to get her the flu shot. We were both on the fence about getting it b/c neither of us EVER get one but we decided to let her have it and now wouldn't you know she is sick. Just makes me wonder!!
Ryan stayed with her yesterday and called me about 3:30 and said her temp was 104.4-he was really scared so I told him to get her in a cool bath and I would call OSF Call Center-love them!! So the nurse was very helpful and told me that her temp was actually ok-anything between 102-104 is not an emergency just means her body is fighting off infection. I also learned if kids run a low grade temp of 100-102 that you aren't suppose to give them anything-WHAT, never heard that before, nurse said you are suppose to let things run it course when they have low grade temp!! So the good news is her temp never got above 104.4 and today I'm home with her and she is getting back to her normal self. Temp is down to 101 and she is running around like her ole self. I told her last night when the 3 of us were laying in bed that I missed my CRAZY WILD CHILD-don't get me wrong I love how cuddly she has been but hate the fact that she was sick. The last 2 nights she slept with us b/c we were pretty worried about her-hopefully we didn't ruin her good sleeping habits and she will still want to sleep in her bed!
